During the morning assembly on 20 September 2024, we welcomed back alumnus Walter Hui, who is now in Year 4 of the double degree programme in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law at The University of Hong Kong. Walter shared his inspiring journey and the invaluable lessons he learned during his secondary school studies.

Walter began by reflecting on his own experiences at the CDG Family. He emphasised the importance of viewing challenges and failures not as setbacks but as essential stepping stones to personal growth.

One of the central messages of his talk was the significance of focusing on incremental changes rather than solely on the end results. Walter encouraged students to celebrate small victories and recognise their progress along the way.

At the end, Walter, who achieved a remarkable Level 5** in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), shared his personal journey of improving his English skills, particularly how he acquired a British accent.

We are grateful to Walter for returning to share his wisdom and experiences, reminding students that success is not merely defined by results, but by the growth and resilience they cultivate along the way.
