Reading Month 2026/27

2026-10-26 Oct, 2026

Our school held its Reading Month from 5 to 27 October 2026, centred on the theme: ‘Letting students explore reading through their strengths and interests.

The school library kicked off the month by publishing the first issue of its newsletter, which featured the renowned author Keigo Higashino. Whether students enjoyed mystery or heartwarming fiction, they were sure to find a title tailored to their taste.

Reading Month offered a wide variety of activities catering to all kinds of talents. For those who love writing, a fountain pen calligraphy workshop and a calligraphy competition provided an opportunity to transcribe excerpts from great books. Creative artists designed stamps inspired by storybooks for the library's "Worry-Relief Post Office". Perfume lovers sampled fragrances, capturing the scents in words and translating those feelings into artwork. Meanwhile, music enthusiasts read excerpts from the famous novel Perfume before writing lyrics inspired by the sense of smell. The library also organised a "20-Day Reading Streak Challenge" for the entire school.

Another highlight of Reading Month was the Author's Talk. The school was delighted to welcome Mr Peter Lui Wai-lok, who shared his inspiring journey to becoming a professional lyricist. In addition, a two-day book fair featured a rich selection of books for every type of reader.

What are your strengths and interests? Let reading take you further and open up new horizons!
