Art Ambassador in School Scheme: “Dare to Create” Arts Camp

2026-05-06 May, 2026

Our S.5 students, Koon Lok-yau and Leung Sum-yuet, participated in the Art Ambassador in School Scheme organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. On 6 April 2026, they joined the "Dare to Create" Arts Camp, where they put the concept of "breaking boundaries" into practice.

Under the guidance of mentors, the students ventured into Sham Shui Po for a "Sound Collection" mission. This was more than just a data-gathering exercise; it was a profound shift in perspective. For the students, these daily fragments of life became their most precious creative inspirations.

The most impactful challenge of the workshop was "modifying others' paintings". Moving from an initial hesitation to paint over someone else's work to eventually "splashing colours with confidence", the students realised a vital truth: Art has no right or wrong. Only by letting go of the fear of "destruction" and embracing an open mind can one shatter stereotypes and become a true creator.

Art is not confined by form or subject matter. As long as emotion and thought are infused into the process, any medium can become a moving work of art.
