2025-04-18 Apr, 2025

Led by 12 teachers, all S.5 students participated in a 3-day Citizenship and Social Development “Guangzhou Historical, Cultural, and Innovative Technology Study Tour” from April 16 to 18.

After traveling to Guangzhou by high-speed rail, the teachers and students visited the National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou. Through this visit, students gained an understanding of platform technologies and services that integrate high-performance computing, big data processing, and cloud computing.

Over the next two days, students visited the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King, and the Guangdong Museum. These visits allowed students to explore the rich heritage of Guangdong, including its unique folk traditions, Lingnan culture, and historical evolution. They also discovered significant archaeological findings, cultural preservation efforts, and admired traditional architecture, including Guangzhou's largest ancestral hall.

In addition to historical sites, students visited Yongqing Fang, a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Following its revitalization, the street has become home to numerous teahouses and bookstores, transforming the traditional Siheyuan into a vibrant space for the younger generation. Students experienced the charm of the Cantonese Opera Art Museum located within Yongqing Fang.

Lastly, students visited Guangzhou No. 13 Middle School, where students from both schools performed music and dance. Additionally, our students participated in cultural lessons led by the teachers at the school. Through this cultural exchange, students shared the unique cultural characteristics of both regions.

Through these activities, both teachers and students gained a deeper understanding of local innovative scientific research facilities and their significance in safeguarding national technological and cybersecurity, fostering a spirit of innovation and curiosity in technology. They also learned about the preservation and transmission of traditional local culture, reflecting on ways to integrate outstanding Chinese cultural values into daily life.
