In order to provide an enhancement platform for students with high potentials in physics, our school offers Physics Olympiad Enrichment class and recommends students to participate in related competitions. Our school got pleasing results in Hong Kong Physics Olympiad 2019. 5D WONG KWUN HO and 5D CHIU CHI CHUNG got the Second Honour and the Honourable Mention respectively. Congratulations!
17 students of Secondary 1 to 5 participated in the Inter-school Swimming Championships on 26 September 2019 and 9 October 2019. It is a competition organised by Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation, aiming to widen the horizons of the students and improve their swimming skills.
Our school achieved satisfactory results in this competition. Among 43 schools, Boys A Grade were awarded the 7th Runner-up, Boys B Grade got the 18th Runner-up, Boys C Grade obtained the 16th Runner-up, and Girls A Grade were awarded the 16th Runner-up. Apart from this, 5C Lee Yau Wai got the Champions in 50m Back Stroke and 100m Back Stroke, 5C Ng Wing Ki obtained the 1st Runner-up in 200m Breast Stroke and 3D Choi Pui Yuk got the 1st Runner-up in 200m Individual Medley.
20 students of our school joined the International Robotic Olympiad held in Thailand on 21 July 2019. It is a competition organised by Hong Kong Robotic Olympic Association aiming to provide a platform for students to share and exchange their experiences of robot-making. Our team obtained six Champions, eight First Runners-up, five Second Runners-up and five Third Runners-up.
On 13th July 2019, four Secondary 4 students, Lee Hiu Fung, Tin Yu Sum Marco, Wong Chi Shing, and Leung Chun Yui were crowned Champion in the first Inter-secondary School Virtual Reality Contest, which aims to nurture a creative, curious, and can-do mindset and build a cultural learning ambience by encouraging students to explore more about topics related to ancient China. Their winning entry titled “合州釣魚城之戰” will be showcased in public venues for 12 months.
The Contest is organized by International STEAM Olympiad Association and co-organised by the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering and Pao Yue-kong Library from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
12 of our students participated in the 18th Sai Kung District Outstanding Student Election in June 2019. Co-organised by the Sai Kung Cultural Centre, the Sai Kung District Secondary School Heads Association and Sai Kung Cultural Association for Youth, the event aims to encourage students to have all-round development. Our students 4C Zhuo Sze Man, 4D Huang Po Yee, 4D Ho Pak Hei and 6C Chu Wai Ki won the Outstanding Student Awards. S3D Huang Kailin, 6C Cheng Ki Fong and 6C Fung Wing Ki got the Certificates of Merit. 4D Ng Hoi Yan and 6C Lau Cheuk Hin received the Talent and Culture Awards.
